Mid -America Manufacturing Inc. Poorly made trailer and poor customer service “I bought a trailer after their salesman confirmed what I would be using the trailer for; to haul my compact tractor & a couple different implements. I was going to buy a utility trailer but he suggested a heavier made flatbed trailer with a brake on front axle for just a couple hundred more dollars. I took his advice & bought the heavier made trailer. I used the trailer 1 time to haul the tractor, box blade & bush hog. I was told that the trailer would handle the 4000 lb load. Well it did handle it, but the 2 inch angle iron supports bent in the middle about an inch to inch & a half. I called the salesman to explain what happened & he said send me some pictures & I’ll talk to the manufacturer to see what they will do about it. He advised me to call the owner of Mid-America. The owner was very rude & told me it was my fault because the compact tractor was too narrow & all the weight was in the middle of the trailer which caused the supports to bend. I said your salesman told me that is the trailer you need. He rudely said “well we will fix it this time but we’re DONE with it after that”. I said if I messed up my trailer I’ll pay to have it fixed. He again very rudely said “You can bring it over here & we’ll work it in when we get to it…,we will fix it this time but after this time we’re DONE!” Then he proceded to tell me the trailer is not designed to haul a heavy load in the center. I said I understand what you’re saying but I was told by the salesman it would with NO PROBLEMS. I’ve decided to fix it myself by taking it to a independent welder that I’ve known for years. They also left the wiring hanging & I had to fix that myself. Cheaply made safety chains also. I have sturdier ones on a porch swing. Their trailers are not safe, they’re poorly made & you’ll get no customer service whatsoever. Buyer beware.”
